What is design?

There are many critical components of design. One cannot simply describe what design is in a single phrase as in the dictionary. Real design can be considered as a form of art, with a certain aesthetic that the designer wishes to convey. For example, these watches use a specific symmetry of colors and shapes, as well as  unique types of indicators to display the time. The form of the hands in these watches are quite diverse, but they all have the exact same function. Despite this functional similarity, each watch has a uniquely different aesthetic to its design.
