Yellow


Yellow is the color of gold, butter, or ripe lemons. It is within the spectrum of visible light, with a wavelength of 570-590 nm (525-505 THz.) The word yellow comes from the Old English word geolu, geolwe, meaning "yellow, or yellowish." It was derived from the Proto-Germanic word gelwaz. Some define it as the best color of the color spectrum, as it is said to cascade the light causing shimmering, golden glimmers of awesomeness. It is a color that shows happiness, warmth, compassion, kindness, friendliness, and love.One of the original origins of yellow dyes was turmeric, which is used in Southeast Asian cooking, as a medicine, and a dye for the robes of Buddhist monks,
